How to transfer files to a R2 imaged HUB.

How to transfer files to a R2 imaged HUB.

After a HUB has been imaged with the R2 hardened OS the local group policy prevents moving files to the HUB over RDP.   To get around this you can either disable the policy or you can leverage the Ilium service already running to transfer the needed file to the HUB.  In this KB I will explain how to leverage Ilium to accomplish this task.

1.  Create a ZIP file containing the files that need to be copied to the HUB or HUBs with a file name in this format (i.e. CAST_v12.0.30.4.zip).
2.  Move the new ZIP file to the versions directory configured on the Orpheus Server,  (i.e. E:\MVD2\version\).
3.  After a few moments Ilium running on the HUB will sync with the server and download the files.
4.  On the HUB browse to C:\MVD2\saved\ to find the ZIP file or C:\MVD2\App\ to find the unzipped files.

Note:  You can also use this method to upgrade the Ilium application just by simply placing the new version of the Ilium application into the E:\MVD2\version\ directory on the server.  At this point,  it does not look like Ilium will install other applications but you can use this transfer method to get other types of files such as .exe and .msi files copied to the HUB for manual installation and the file name formate does not matter for the other file types.
